Our purpose is to build a world-wide community of individuals and organisations committed to the creation of a collaborative, sustainable economy.

Check out PlaNet, our vision of a collaborative social networking platform, and read our cartoon story which explains how we could all benefit from such a system. Open source social networking software has come a long way since we visualised PlaNet and more and more people are realising the power of network based collaboration.

The founders of The Open Co-op have been a bit busy recently, working on other world changing projects and focusing on a local level...

But we've re-focussed on our purpose and realised: The people striving to create a collaborative sustainable economy need to truly co-operate by pooling resources and developing shared infrastructure, together. Working in this way, we will achieve our goals quicker than alone.
